May spoke again...enough mum...enough
Phonics
I was introduced to this website: www.starfall.com by my colleauge.
Chloe loves it. She picked up the sounds of each alphabet very fast. But i was mindful to restict her to the viewing for no more than 5 minutes, once in about three days. I was afraid that she will be addicted to it.
Recently, when we asked her "what does 'A' says?", she could reply the sound. We tried that on all alphabets and she could pronounce the sounds.
A for Apple
It an usual routine for us...when we drive up the multistorey carpark, i will calll out the alphabet on each deck. Since she has acquired the recognition of each alphabet, i try to increase the depth by calling out words that begin with the particular alphabet when the car drove past each deck. E.g: Deck A. A for apple, A for Ant. Deck B. B for Boy, B for Baby. So there was this particular day, as usual, i did the same routine. When we reached deck C, i said Deck C. C for Cat, C for Car, C for......My mind is blank! I suddenly couldnt think of a "C" word. I repeated, C for..... I could sense Chloe is waiting for me to say the "C" word. My mind is still blank. Suddenly, Chloe blurt out " C for Chloeeeeeee". We were astonished.
The car drove past Deck D. I asked, "D for.............?" Chloe replied, " Duck". Next, the car drove past Deck E. I said. "E for egg", E for ............?". She replied "Elephant". Finally, hubby found a lot at deck F. I asked again, " F for ............?". Chloe replied, "Fish".
Lotsa Praises and hugs to Chloe!!!
Do Re Me
This happened yeserday morning. She sat infront on her piano. I asked her where is Do? She hit the right key. Where is Soh? She hit the right key again. Couldn't believe it, i tried again. She could hit the right keys when asked for each note in an octave. Now, we are trying to migrate from Do Reh Me to CDE. Hope she can identify the correct alphabet to each key soon.
Dounuts
Hubby brought MUNCHI dounuts. The donuts were kept in the box. He then proceeded to fetch us from my mum place. In the lift, Chloe saw the box in the transparent plastic bag which hubby was holding. She called out in excitment. Her exact words loud and clear were: "Daddy buy dounuts!"
Hold me JiuMa
This was a typical evening. My brother and his wife brought Chloe along to causeway point. His wife is rather petite and was carrying chloe in her arms. Chloe is already 20 mths and it can be quite heavy for her built. As they shop, Chloe slipped lower and lower until as if Chloe's body is almost below her Jiuma's waist. In a moment of anxiety, Chloe called out " JiuMa hold meeeeeeeee!"
Both my brother and his wife were amused!!!
Chloe seems to have grown overnight now that she starts to articulate more and more! :>
