May spoke:
LANGUAGE
We have brought a set of language genius flash cards. We commit ourselves to flash a set of 10 cards to her every week as part of the home practice. She loves looking at them. One day, she picked up the cards and started reading on her own. To our surpise she read the following " put beans into jar". What was printed on the back of the card was " I put the beans into the jar". That was when i asked myself, maybe she is ready to read. So, there it was starting to put cards of words on magnetic white board and point my finger to every word in the 5 to 6 words sentence. She reads them all (touched touched).
But she has not quite acquire self reading on her own i.e. Show her a sentence she reads on her own without guide.
SPEED READING
She loves flipping thru the story books. She will look at each page for a few secs then flipped to the next. I wonder if she is practicing speed reading.
WRITING & DRAWING & PAINTING
We bought her a 2 way easel board (one side is black board) the other side is glass board) from IKEA. Papers was laid over the board and she was encourgaed to scribble and draw and writre on the papers. This had become her favourite corner since.
Inspired by Selina's Right Brain Art Journel, i started Chloe on painting at 17 mths plus. Her first painting looks to me like a blur turtle. To date, she have created about 25 paintings, all of which are from poster paints. I think is time to introduce her to another medium. Will upload some of her masterpieces to share soon! :>
I am currently gettin her to do the four seasons since i introduced to her about 4 seasons and colours of seasons. Hope to do a canvas transfer on this and mount the masterpieces.
ANATOMY
We got her a 50 cm tall, human model which had major organs that can be dismantled and assembled. She likes him very much. She called her "Man Man". She could recognise and verbalised, brain, heart, liver, intestines (can't differentiate small and larhe intestines though), kidneys, lungs.
COUNTING IN MALAY
Credit to Daddy. He thought her how to count 1 to 10 in malay. But cant quite go on after "delapan".
